The key to our success

Embracing Equality and Inclusion

We are active in the diversity and inclusion arena and bring in experts to engage, energise and keep discussions active so our employees and stakeholders build progress.

Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)

In South Africa, we are committed to fostering an inclusive economy and recognise our role and responsibility in achieving the country’s transformation imperatives.

As such, we are proud to be an official Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) contributor, having received our first ever certificate on the 1st August 2022. BBBEE is a legislative framework that aims to advance the economic transformation and participation of previously marginalised groupings, which fully aligns with our goals to empower our employees, advance representation in agriculture and drive supplier and skills development.

In order to achieve this milestone, Corteva invested significantly in management representation, making opportunities available to all our employees and placing emphasis on training, with a commitment to rectifying the skills shortage in South Africa.

A level eight rating, of course is just the beginning - our ongoing transformation journey is based on the  following:

1. Investing in our most valuable resource, our people

2. Supporting the development of critical skills in the economy through key initiatives and capacity building programmes

3. Maintaining strong partnerships and driving development through our preferential procurement, supplier and enterprise programmes

4. Improving communities through socio-economic development programmes

Our B-BBEE journey goes beyond just legislative requirements and tick-boxes. It allows us to further deliver on our transformation goals, as we continue to build a strong business for all stakeholders.

More About B-BBEE

B-BBEE is a South African Government policy that encourages large businesses to help transform the country, by increasing the number of black communities and workers that own and manage enterprises and productive assets.
